Game📍 Nome, Alaska, USA
The first official sled dog race, the All Alaska Sweepstakes, was organised in Nome, Alaska, in 1908: teams ran 408 miles to Candle and back. Musher Scotty Allan said it was as big an event in Alaska as the Kentucky Derby.

Word📍 Canadian Arctic (Nunavut)
Igloo comes from iglu, the Inuit word for any house, not only one made of snow; English picked it up in the Canadian Arctic in 1824. It may be −45 °C outside, but body heat alone can warm a snow igloo to as much as 16 °C inside.

Food📍 Buffalo, New York, USA
Named after Buffalo, New York, not the animal. The Anchor Bar says co-owner Teressa Bellissimo first tossed fried wings in hot sauce there in 1964, though local chef John Young said he was frying wings in Buffalo from 1961.
